The cluster, Diet – Body – Brain (DietBB), acts in the region of Bonn-Cologne and includes academic partners, the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE), the German Nutrition Society, and two industry partners, all located within a radius of 30 km around Bonn.
Professor Ute Nöthlings from the Institute of Nutrition and Food Sciences introduces the Bonn-based competence cluster DietBB and gives an up-to-date overview of the study situation on nutrition and dementia. On this basis, she discusses the question of whether the so-called Mediterranean diet can prevent Alzheimer's.
